Ndamukong Suh is a professional American football player and Los Angeles Rams defender who plays in the National Football League (NFL). Suh has been named by the Detroit Lions as the second All-State Team in the 2010 NFL draft, is a five-time professional bowler, and has been called to the All-Pro First Team three times. Prior to his career in the Rams, Suh also played for the top teams in the NFL, including the Miami Dolphins and the Detriot Lions. He completed his college career with the Nebraska Cornhuskers soccer team.

The powerful defensive tackle was born on January 6, 1987, as Ndamukong Ngwa Suh in Portland, Oregon. He was born to African-American parents, Bernadette Suh and her husband Michael Suh. He has American citizenship and is of African-American descent. Suh grew up in Portland, Oregon, where he attended Grant High School. His professional career began right after high school, where he played various sports such as basketball, soccer, and athletics.
During his high school soccer career, Suh was a reciprocal linesman for the school soccer team. As a junior, he earned an honorable mention in the All-State Selection and an award in the All-Pil First Team. In his senior year, he won the Interscholastic League Defensive Player of the Year award and was named to the All-State Class 4A First and High School All-American team by Parade Magazine. He competed in the 2005 U.S. All-American Bowl and at the end of his high school career; Suh received a four-star rating from Rivals.com. He was also named the sixth-best defensive tackle in the United States.
He completed his college football career at the University of Nebraska where he played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. From 2005 on, he played the role of defensive tackle for the team and ended in 2009. As a rookie, Suh played only the first two games for the Cornhuskers before being suspended for the rest of the season after knee surgery.

Ndamukong Suh was selected by the Detroit Lions as the second overall choice in the 2010 NFL draft. He signed a five-year contract with the Lions valued at US$68 million with a US$40 million guarantee. During his rookie year, Suh was appointed to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team.
