The outstanding comedian Tommy Davidson was born on November 10, 1963, in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. He attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in Bethesda, Maryland. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of the District of Colombia. After graduation, he completed his internship at the university’s radio station. Prior to his comedy career, he also worked in Hechinger’s warehouse in Hyattsville and in a hospital kitchen.

Tommy Davidson began his career in 1986 as a stand-up comedian and had his first appearance in a strip club in Washington D.C. Afterwards he performed in various clubs in Philadelphia and Baltimore. Soon after, he began performing alongside artists such as Kenny G and Patti LaBelle, for whom he opened up during their performances. Following his unique style of comedy, Davidson won the 1987 Amateur Comedy Concert organized at the Apollo Theatre.

In search of a larger audience, Tommy moved to California where he continued his comedy career. He performed at various comedy club centers; he appeared at both the Comedy Store and the Arsenio Hall Show. Tommy participated in the 1990 variety show In Living Color, where he imitated various stars such as Michael Jackson, Sammy Davis, and Homey D. Clown. In Philadelphia, he released his first comedy tape called IIin, which was a regular feature on Comedy Central in the 1990s. Along with Damon Wayans, Jim Carrey, and Jamie Foxx, Davidson became famous for the originality of his comedy lines.

In addition, the comic star made his first movie appearance in 1991, when he appeared alongside Halle Berry in the movie entitled Strictly Business. His next project was Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and Prey Calls. In 1998 he played the leading role in the romantic comedy Woo alongside Jada Pinkett Smith. After that, he starred in Spike Lee’s film Bamboozled in 2000. Then in 2001, he played the lead role of a voice actor for the character of Oscar Proud in the animated series The Proud Family. Together with Kevin Hart, Daniel Tosh, and Paul F. Tompkins, he starred in the third season of the Comedy Central series in 2008, entitled Live at Gotham. He had a guest appearance on Mike Lazzo’s live talk show Space Host Coast to Coast.

His other comedy series include Black Dynamite, Between Brothers, Martin, I Am Comic, Just Like Us and Everybody Hates Chris. He appeared in the fourth season of Celebrity Wife Swap with his fiancée in 2015 and the following year he appeared in Celebrity Family Feud.

Davidson had a difficult childhood; shortly after his birth, he was thrown into the garbage at the age of one year and six months. Fortunately, he was saved by a woman, Barbara Davidson, who later adopted him as her child. Not much is known about his biological parents; his adoptive parents are of Caucasian descent, while Tommy is of African-American descent. He grew up with two siblings named Beryle and Michael Davidson. Although it was very difficult to grow up as a black man in the white-dominated sphere, Tommy was able to get all the love and support he could get from Barbara and her family. His mother, Barbara Davidson, was working as a civil rights activist at the time.

Growing up was so hard for Tommy; he faced many identity problems and racial discrimination because of his skin color. Nevertheless, his family stood by him all the way. Today, he has shattered stereotypes and carved out a niche for himself in the American entertainment industry.

Besides his successful comedy career, Tommy Davidson is also a happily married man and father. He is married to his long-time girlfriend Amanda Moore, who owns a children’s boutique called Lil Posh Resale in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California. The couple made the alliance for the year 2015, unfortunately, there are no details about the place and date of the wedding. Since their marriage, they have continued to experience a euphoric married life.

Before his marriage to Amanda, Tommy had a relationship with Arlene Davidson, with whom he had two children – a son named Isaiah Davidson and a daughter named Jillian Davidson. Currently, he and Moore have no children; they are the parents of his two children.
