Luke Shaw is a young English footballer who has risen through the lower echelons of English soccer and has established himself as a prominent defender in the top league of English soccer. Club Career
After Luke Shaw joined Southampton Academy, his passion for the game led him to work hard and soon established himself as a regular member of the Southampton U-18 youth team. After eight years at the Academy, he was given a place on the first team in September 2011 at the age of 16. The club, which was in the championship at the time, received offers for the talented left defender from top Premier League teams such as Manchester City, Arsenal, etc., but decided to keep the then 16-year-old.
The next season, in 2012, Southampton moved up into the Premier League and Luke Shaw (alongside James Ward-Prowse, Calum Chambers, and Jack Stephens) agreed his first professional football contract with the club.
