This guy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 3, 1953, under the full name of Dennis Michael Miller. He was raised by his mother Norma along with his four other siblings in the absence of his father, who left them when Dennis was a child.
Dennis attended Saint Anne’s School for his primary education and later studied at Keystone Oaks High School. He then went to Point Park University where he studied journalism and graduated in 1976.
After graduation, Dennis Miller did not have a well-paid job as a journalist, so he had to do several menial jobs and even had to work in stand-up comedy. He finally began his career officially in 1980 (four years after graduating from university) as a television presenter working for the Punch and Judy show of KDKA-TV.

He left KDKA-TV in 1984 and moved to Los Angeles, where he did stand-up comedy at the Comedy Store. It was there that Lenore Michael, the producer of Saturday Night Live, saw him for the first time, and because of his impressive performance, Lenore Michael felt compelled to offer him a job with the SNL. He started working at Saturday Night Live and hosted the Weekend Update, one of the SNL’s most-watched shows.
After a few years, he left Saturday Night Live and started his own show, which he called the Dennis Miller Show, a nighttime television show that only lasted 7 months.
